Scotty McInally   

BUTLER – A celebration of life service for Brian Andrew “Scotty” McInally, 75, will be held September 30, 2022, at the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home.

Mr. McInally passed away September 22, 2022, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born July 8, 1947 in Irvine, Scotland. He was a plumber for 59 and half years and was the proud owner of Twin States Plumbing in Butler.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche McInally; daughters, Gwendoline Cheramie (Jeff), Rozena Withers (James), Ann (McInally) Price (Shawn), and Brandy Shepherd (late husband Justin); grandchildren, Andrea Alphonso (Brent),  Jansen Cheramie (Alexa), Samantha Womack (Tyler), Megan Schmidt, Shelbie Beloshapka (Brent), Kory Schmidt (Kaylee), Piper Shepherd, Abbey Shepherd, Darby Shepherd, Kobe Shepherd, and Kaitlyn Price; and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John McInally and Rosyna Cabe McInally; brothers, Jim McInally and Jack McInally; and sister, Margaret McInally.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Helen R. Cleary

BUTLER – Funeral services for Helen Ray Windham Cleary, 97, will be held September 30, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Butler with Rev. Micah Gandy and Dr. David Tait Windham officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Cleary passed away September 25, 2022, at her home. She was born March 23, 1925, in Alexander City, to Orlando P. Ray and Mary Susie King Ray.

Mrs. Helen was a retired school teacher for the Choctaw County Board of Education.

Survivors include her sons, James Allen Windham (Nancy) of Demopolis; and John Windham of Butler; grandchildren, Tyler Windham (Emily), Cory Windham (Katie), Tait Windham (Kate), Paige Windham Furlow (Trent), and Catie Lundy (Zach); great grandchildren, Brady Windham, Alex Windham, Riley Windham, Rhett Windham, Jordyn Windham, Samara Windham, Gaines Windham, and Rocco Lundy.

She was preceded in death by parents, Orlando Ray and Mary Susie Ray; husband, Jim Windham; husband, Jack Cleary; sons, David Ray Windham and Bill Windham; daughter, Janice Bailey; and five siblings.

Lois D. Tyson

WAYNESBORO – Funeral services for Lois Dale Stokley Tyson, age 73, were held September 23, 2022, at Phillips Funeral Home in Gilbertown, with Reverend Jerry Turner and Lynne Adams officiating.

Visitation was held September 22, 2022, at Phillips Funeral Home.  Interment followed the service in Bethel Cemetery in

Butler.

Ms. Tyson, was born October 28, 1947, in Souwilpa, to Joe Raymond Stokley and Janice Shoemaker Stokley.  She passed away September 19, 2022, at her residence in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her mother, Janice Dees of Tennessee; daughter, Audrey Tyson (Roy Bunch) of Waynesboro; daughter-in-law, Tonia Tyson of Texas;  brothers, Mark Dees of Fruitdale, Ricky Dees of Fruitdale, and Mitchell Dees of Fruitdale; sisters, Linda Dees of Mobile, Peggy Buckley of Buckatunna, Debra Dees of Tennessee, and Maria Case of Needham; grandchildren, Nick Tyson, Angelique Bass (Cory), Ashley Marcet (Austin Walley), Jacob Tyson, Mikayla Coats (Tyler), Taylor Tyson, Tyler Tyson, Connor Bunch, Lakelyn Bunch, and Chad Gibbs; and great grandchildren, Chloe Bass, Augustus Bass, Alyssa Marcet, Harper Coats, and Remington Coats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Henry T.” Tyson; son, Raymond Tyson; father, Joe Raymond Stokley; brother, Charles V. Dees.

Serving as pallbearers were Roy Bunch, Corey Bass, Austin Walley, Connor Bunch, Nick Tyson, and Christopher Case.  Honorary pallbearers include Taylor Tyson and Tyler Tyson.

Bennie Neal

QUITMAN, MISS – Graveside services for Bennie Neal, age 80, of were held September 22, 2022, at Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery in

Quitman; with Tubby Dyess and Reverend Jason Castle officiating.

Mr. Neal, was born March 14, 1942, in Clarke County, MS, to Everin Clayton Neal and Claudia Lorene Cooper Neal. He passed away September 18, 2022, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.

He is survived by his wife, Floy Pearl Johnson “Flo” Neal of Quitman; daughters, Melissa Lynn Neal of Quitman, Carol Sue Neal of Enterprise, Rennie Michelle Brewer (Oscar) of Stonewall, and Amy Jean Neal of Enterprise; and grandchildren, Jeremy Andrew Waller, Stephanie Michelle Sanderford (Joe), Katelyn Renae Robinson, and Jason Daniel Pierce.  He was

preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Daniel Waller; father, Everin Clayton Neal; mother, Claudia Lorene Cooper Neal; brothers, Junior Neal, Charles Neal, Talmadge “Fats” Neal, John D. Neal, and Wayne Neal; and sisters, Carolyn Raines, Dorothy Sue Collins, Marie Johnson, and Barbara Sue Neal.

Serving as pallbearers were Stan Stewart, Raymond Taormina, Craig Simpson, Dylan Simpson, Terry Simpson, and Jody Simpson.  Honorary pallbearers included Stephen Krajewski and Tubby Dyess.

Fannie G. Gardner

NEEDHAM – Funeral services for Fannie Grace Busby Gardner, 85, was held September 23, 2022, at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Turner and Rev. Kendall Turner officiating. Burial followed at Brightwater Cemetery.

Mrs. Grace passed away September 20, 2022, at Rush Hospital in Meridian. She was born May 15, 1937, in Butler, to Slater Turner and Ada Busby.

Survivors include sons, Wayne Busby (Faye) of Needham; Gary Busby (Shelia) of Butler; Dannie Ray Busby of Needham; Randy Dale Busby of Needham; daughters, Debbie Morgan of Mobile; Ellen Moore of Needham; Belinda Hearn (Ernest) of Lisman; step-sons Billy Gardner; Gary Gardner; Ferry Gardner; step- daughter, Marie Gardner; brother, Robert Turner of Needham; 21 grandchildren; host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Slater Turner and Ada Busby Turner; husbands, Emmit Miller Busby and Raymond Gardner; son, Martin Miller Busby; daughter Sandra Kay Busby; brother,

James Turner; sisters, Rosie Ott, Pearl Lewis, and Sally Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Derrick Turner and Ambra Danielle Busby; and great-great-grandchild, Aulbrie Fayeth Taylor.

Pallbearers are Shawn Busby, Steven Hearn, Chris McMicheal, Jackie Soper, Charlie Moore, and Matthew Rhodes. Honorary pallbearer is Phillip Turner.

Irene Ferry

BUTLER – Graveside services for Irene Brown Ferry, 101, were held September 21,2022, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Lyle Meador officiating.

Mrs. Ferry passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, at her home. She was born December 7, 1920, in Conehatta, Mississippi.

Mrs. Irene lived a long, abundant, happy life. She enjoyed reading, needle work, and going to the nutrition center, but more than anything she enjoyed helping others. Up until three months ago, she continued quoting Bible scriptures to her family. Irene loved her family dearly and is going to be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, William Randall “Randy” Ferry (Warrene) and Nancy F. Windham (Al); daughter-in-law, Peggy Ferry; 6 grandchildren, Pam Cox (James), Jenifer Newton (Doug), Laura Ferry (Justin), John Ferry, Tyler Windham (Emily), and Corey Windham (Katie); 8 great grandchildren, Courtney McCarty (Arin), Claire Driver, Darcy Driver, Brady Windham, Alex Windham, Riley Windham, Rhett Windham, and Nate Newton; sisters, Sara B. Bethany, Mary Aycock (Clois), and Patty Doucet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Victor Brown and Bertie Mae Brown; husband, John Hardy “Red” Ferry; son, John David “Johnny” Ferry; siblings, Esta McKnight, Annie M. “Madge” Drumm, Thomas Seabron “Bud” Brown, and Sidney Brown; and granddaughter, Adrienne Newton.

Pallbearers: Tyler Windham, Corey Windham, Mike Galleher, James Cox, E.T. Rolison, and John Mitchell.
