BUTLER – Choctaw County Sheriff Scott Lolley is warning residents to stay off the roads through the remainder of the winter storm event. Hills and bridges are now impassable, with several motorists already having accidents. Current predictions show continuing snow throughout the morning and into mid- to late-afternoon, with temperatures remaining in the mid-30s.

Per  the Choctaw County EMA app. Due to the threat of winter weather, the Choctaw County Public Schools and South Choctaw Academy will be closed tomorrow. Patrician Academy Headmaster Billy Burnham says they are are waiting on weather reports to make a decision  to dismiss classes tomorrow.

An 84-year-old Needham man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with murder. According to the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, Evan Lamor Todd of Butler was taken into custody after deputies were called to a residence at 3805 Land Road.
