WARMING LOCATIONS OPENED

The Choctaw County Emergency Management Agency has announced that several local churches will be opened on Saturday afternoon to serve as ‘warming stations’ for use by residents who are still without electricity.

EMA Director Tyler Davidson said that the locations, which will be opened as of 2 p.m. Saturday, include Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Lisman, Paradise Missionary Baptist Church in Butler, and the Gilbertown Baptist Church Activities Building in Gilbertown.

Those who opt to use the warming stations should bring snacks, beverages, medications, and other essential items, as these will not be provided at the locations.

Davidson said that crews are working diligently to restore power to all areas of the county.
